Nestle posts 2019 revenue at 92.6B Swiss francs, up 1.2%

Nestle S.A. reported on Thursday its revenue for the full fiscal 2019 came in at 92.6 billion Swiss francs, up 1.2% compared to the previous year. In the same period, earnings per share jumped 28% to 4.30 Swiss francs while free cash flow increased by 10.9% to stand at 11.9 billion Swiss francs.

The company's organic sales growth reached 3.5%, with real internal growth accelerating to 2.9%, the highest level in the last six years. Pricing returned to positive territory in the fourth quarter and contributed 0.6% to the growth.

"We saw strong progress in 2019, with key operating and financial metrics improving significantly for the second consecutive year. Organic growth accelerated, fueled by strong momentum in the United States and Purina PetCare globally. Profitability improved again and reached our guided range one year ahead of plan," Nestle CEO Mark Schneider said.

Nestle said it reached its 2020 profitability target range, with the organic sales growth, earnings per share and capital efficiency expected to increase for an unspecified amount in the next year.
