Europe opens in green amid trade deal, data

Markets in Europe opened in the green on Friday encouraged by the recent signing of a trade deal between the United States and China. Also, European Union Commissioner for Trade Phil Hogan visited the States yesterday where he spoke with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer about trade relations between the EU and the US.

Meanwhile, investors are waiting for some European data as well. United Kingdom National Statistics will release the data on retail sales and it's expected that Eurostat reports about the Euro Zone Consumer Price index.

The FTSE 100 added 0.34% at 9:02 am CET. The best performer was NMC Health PLC whose shares jumped 4.33% at 9:14 am CET. The DAX rose 0.60% at 9:03 am CET with Rwe AG, up 2.50% at 9:15 am CET. The CAC 40 was up 0.55% at 9:03 am CET with Kering climbing 1.62% at 9:15 am CET.

The euro was flat against the dollar to sell for 1.11352 at 9:04 am CET and the pound gained 0.07% compared to the greenback to go for 1.30840 at 9:05 am CET.
