Wall Street opens mixed as Fed expected to hold rates

Stocks on Wall Street started the session on Wednesday mixed as investors look to the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision set for later in the day. Policymakers are widely expected to keep rates unchanged, but Fed Chair Jerome Powell's comments after the announcement will be closely monitored.

The Dow Jones started out flat before quickly falling 0.19% as Boeing and the Home Depot led the losses. Meanwhile, the S&P kicked off 0.13% higher with semiconductor company Qorvo jumped over 2%. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.21%, Western Digital and Micron led the gains.

The euro was down 0.05% against the dollar at 9:50 am ET, buying 1.10895.
