Addressing the Economic Club of New York on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said the Federal Reserve is "far too slow" with rate cuts, adding that despite the unfavorable monetary policy, the US is doing better than any other country in the world. He reiterated that the United States is "actively competing with nations cutting interest rates," wondering who has "ever heard of negative rates?" "Gimme some of that," Trump said.

He once again blasted the central bank for putting the country at a "competitive disadvantage" compared to other countries, stressing that the US should be paying the "lowest interest rates."
