Apple invests $250M in glass supplier Corning

Apple Inc. announced on Tuesday it was investing $250 million from its $5 billion Advanced Manufacturing Fund into display glass supplier Corning Inc. The investment is aimed at supporting the company's research and development into glass processes, equipment, and materials.

"This award underscores Apple and Corning’s shared belief in the vital role that ingenuity plays in creating industry-leading products, and the pride that both companies take in applying American innovation and advanced manufacturing to solve some of the world’s toughest technology challenges," Apple's chief operating officer Jeff Williams said in the press release.

The tech giant previously awarded $200 million to Corning in 2017.
