Chipmaker Broadcom Inc. and Symantec Corp. have ended talks about the former potentially acquiring the latter, CNBC reported on Monday citing sources close to the matter.

According to the report, the negotiations hit a hurdle after Symantec refused to accept any offer under $28 per share.

Earlier this month, media reported Broadcom is looking to buy the cybersecurity software maker and could also pursue the acquisition of Tibco Software Inc. in case the Symantec deal does not happen.
