Dow, S&P 500 turn positive

The Dow Jones Industrial Average turned positive less than an hour before the closing bell on Friday as Wall Street digested data from the US and China. The Dow came back from a 118-point drop from earlier in the session and its best trading stocks were Home Depot and Verizon as they increased 1.70% and 0.94%, respectively, at 3 pm ET. The Dow rose 0.10% at 3:16 pm ET.

The S&P 500 followed the sentiment minutes later and touched the green, trading 0.01% higher at 3:21 pm ET. The Nasdaq 100 also erased some losses, but it was down 0.18% at 3:19 pm ET, led lower by Broadcom which dropped over 5% on worse-than-expected earnings.

Meanwhile, gold declined 0.03% to $1,341.82 at 3:20 pm ET, but the yellow metal remains 2.02% higher for the month amid trade and geopolitical tensions.
