Asian markets down after attacks on tankers

Asian markets traded lower on Friday after attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf which spiked oil prices. The United States accused Iran of being behind the attacks, a claim Tehran categorically denied. Traders were also waiting for Japan’s industrial production data.

China's Shanghai Composite was down 0.21% at 4:09 am CET. Shenzhen Composite also traded 0.33% lower at the same time.

South Korean Kospi Composite traded 0.060% lower at 4:12 am CET.

Japanese Nikkei 225 was up 0.19% at 4:14 am CET. The dollar traded 0.09% lower against the yen, to go for 108.2865 at 4:12 am CET.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded 0.58% lower at 4:14 am CET.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 went up 0.04% at 4:15 am CET.
