US markets close mixed amid new supply chain issues

Major stock markets in the United States closed mostly lower on Thursday as President Joe Biden argued the coronavirus pandemic has caused new supply chain issues in the United States.

Earlier today, a report showed the number of initial jobless claims in the US unexpectedly increased during the first week of September.

The Dow Jones declined by 0.18% at the closing bell. The S&P 500 fell 0.16%. On the other hand, the Nasdaq 100 inched up by 0.08% with Etsy soaring 3.10%. The euro lost 0.40% against the dollar to 1.176681 at 3:59 pm ET.
