Europe closes higher amid recovery hopes

Major stock markets on the Old Continent closed higher on Tuesday after the European Central Bank (ECB) noted an improvement in the Eurozone's economy in the second quarter. Earlier, Germany registered a monthly rise in producer prices of 8.5% in June. Meanwhile, the European Commission presented its proposal for new rules on fighting money laundering and terrorism financing (AML/CFT).

The DAX closed 0.56% higher as Deutsche Bank AG grew by 2.25%. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.50%, with Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC expanding by 3.47%. The CAC 40 gained 0.87% as Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE increased by 3.04%.

The euro lost 0.27% to the dollar to sell for $1.17670 at 5:28 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling went down by 0.43% against the greenback to change hands for $1.36164.
