PepsiCo revealed on Tuesday that its net revenue in the second quarter of 2021 amounted to $19.22 billion, rising 20.5% compared to the same period a year ago.

GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the trimester soared 44% to $1.7. Meanwhile, GAAP net income amounted to $2.4 billion after a 43% surge compared to the second trimester of 2020. All three figures came in above the analysts' expectations.

"We are pleased with our second quarter results as we delivered very strong double-digit net revenue and earnings per share growth. Given the strength of our results, we now expect our full year organic revenue to increase 6 percent and core constant currency earnings per share to increase 11 percent," CEO Ramon Laguarta commented.

Pepsico shares rose by 1.87% in the premarket after the announcement.
