British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak will unveil a plan worth £5 billion, aimed at helping businesses mitigate the negative impact of the coronavirus-prompted lockdowns, the United Kingdom government said.

The statement explained that some 700,000 firms will be eligible for the grants worth up to £18,000, elaborating that the grants will mostly refer to services, hospitality venues, and shops.

Sunak previously revealed that he plans to launch a fast-track visa regime to enable London to more successfully attract technology experts from around the world.
