American electric pickup truck manufacturer Rivian Automotive announced on Friday that the deliveries of its R1T electric pickup truck will begin in June next year while the deliveries of the R1S electric SUV will start in August 2021. The company intends to make 100,000 delivery vans for Amazon as well and the delivery should start in early 2021.

Chief Executive Officer of Rivian R.J. Scaringe said earlier the company wants to release its all-electric pickup truck before Nikola Motor Co. and Tesla but this has now been postponed due to coronavirus' impact on the company’s production.

Earlier this week, American biggest electric carmaker Tesla sued Rivian for alleged theft of trade secrets. Tesla said that approximately 70 of its employees went working for Rivian and that some of the workers took confidential documents with them.
