Major European stock markets closed higher on Monday as data published during the day showed mostly positive results. The retail trade in the Eurozone grew by 17.8% in May, while the construction sector activity index in the United Kingdom rose in June to beat estimates. The DAX grew 1.76% at the closing with Deutsche Bank AG rising 3.90%. The FTSE 100 went up by 2.09% with Barratt Developments PLC as its top performer with 8.00%. The CAC 40 gained 1.62% as Unibail-Rodamco-WE advanced 5.20%. The euro rose by 0.58% to the dollar to sell for $1.13120 at 5:27 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling increased by 0.07% compared to the greenback, with the exchange rate of 1.13120. |
