Major Wall Street Stock indexes opened higher on Wednesday amid continued hope of economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. Investors will keep a watchful eye on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s Congressional testimony as it is meant to continue later in the day. The Dow opened with a 0.25% increase as Home Depot gained 1.40% at 9:33 am ET, while the S&P 500 advanced by 0.37% with J.B. Hunt Transport Services jumping 2.67%. At the opening bell, the Nasdaq 100 shares rose by 0.42%, ASML Holding leading the gains as the top performer. The euro slid 0.16% against the dollar, selling for 1.12456 at 9:28 am ET. |
