Dow jumps over 150 pts at open

Equities in the United States opened the session on Monday on a positive note, after United States President Donald Trump said he expects the number of new deaths due to COVID-19 to be brought down to a "very little number" by June. Yesterday he stated that the reason the country has more cases of infection is that it has been doing "more tests than any other country anywhere in the world."

Also, investors are waiting for the National Association of Realtors to release the data on pending home sales later in the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index traded 1.11% higher at 9:32 am ET and over 150 points in the green. Procter & Gamble Co rose by 3.51%. The Nasdaq 100 spiked 1.72% with the ASML Holding NV as the best performer that grew by 4.06%. The S&P 500 added 1.33% at the same time. Abbott Laboratories jumped 11.80%.

The euro fell 1.00% on the dollar at 9:44 am ET, going for $1.0820.
