Asian markets trade mixed amid coronavirus fears

Shares on the Asian markets traded mixed on Wednesday following the advice by multiple western countries against traveling to China because of the coronavirus outbreak. The United States also considered suspending all flights from China to the US amid concerns over the Wuhan virus. Chinese officials confirmed 131 victims of the coronavirus outbreak so far, with over 5,000 infected people in total.

Japan's Nikkei 225 was 0.61% up at 4:48 am CET, while South Korea's Kospi traded 0.69% higher at the same time. Meanwhile, the Australian S&P/ASX 200 increased by 0.62% at 4:50 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded 2.47% lower at 4:49 am CET. Chinese markets, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite were closed.

The dollar added 0.08% against the yen to sell for 109.1895 at 4:51 am CET.
