Japanese markets finish 2% down as virus expands

Japan's Nikkei 225 ended the trading session almost 500 points lower, as investors' concerns over the coronavirus outbreak failed to subside after China announced that the death toll from the disease grew to 80. Meanwhile, stocks markets in Australia, China and South Korea were closed for public holidays.

The Nikkei 224 lost 2.03% at the end of its session.

The dollar fell 0.22% against the yen to go for 109.0500 at 7:14 am CET.
