Asian markets higher after PBoC interest rate decision

Major stock markets in East Asia and the Pacific traded higher on Monday after the Chinese central bank's decision not to change the loan prime rate. Meanwhile, on data, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reported industrial production fell 1% in November.

The Japanese Nikkei 225 was 0.23% higher at 07:30 am CET, while the dollar traded flat against the yen and sold for 110.1750 at the same time.

In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.53% at 07:30 am CET while the Shenzhen Composite increased 1.40% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng tumbled 0.59% concurrently.

The South Korean Kospi Composite rose 0.61% at 07:12 am CET, while the S&P/ASX 200 in Australia was up 0.28% at 07:30 am CET.
