Wall Street closes higher after positive data

Trading on Wall Street finished in the green on Wednesday following the release of strong economic data.

The non-manufacturing sector in the United States revealed a rise in activity and an expansion for the 118th consecutive month in November, while in the same month the services sector in the US also recorded an improvement, according to the latest IHS Markit report. Furthermore, the private sector in the United States added 67,000 jobs in November.

The Dow Jones gained 0.53% with JPMorgan Chase & Co as the top performer that grew 1.97%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 added 0.63% at the end of the session led higher by L Brands that jumped 7.91%. The Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.51% with Expedia Group among the top gainers that rose 6.21%.

The euro traded flat against the dollar, changing hands for 1.10802 at 4:02 pm ET.
