Wall Street closes mixed after Trump threatens more tariffs

Equities in the United States' stock markets closed mixed on Tuesday after United States President Donald Trump said he would increase tariffs if Washington and Beijing fail to reach a trade deal. Also, Washington reportedly said it has not gained enough from China's accession to the World Trade Organization.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.36%. Home Depot, whose shares sank 5.44%, was the worst performer in the index. The Nasdaq 100 traded in the green increasing 0.12% while its best performing stock was Advanced Micro Devices with 3.54% growth. The S&P 500 fell 0.06% with Kohl’s as the biggest loser slumping 19.50%.

The euro traded flat against the dollar, changing hands for 1.108 at 4:32 pm ET.
