Wirecard AG revenues in 2018 were at €2 billion, up 35% compared to 2017, following a "consistently very good business performance", the German financial services provider announced on Thursday. Earnings per share increased €2.81 from €2.07, or 35% year on year. Transaction volume processed rose 37.3% to €124.9 billion versus last year.

The company said it will resume focusing its product development efforts on value-added services in the area of data analytics, digital loans, and mobile payment solutions as it continues expanding its business in the Asia-Pacific region.

In relation to the allegations of fraud and false accounting, Wirecard stated the investigation led by law firm Rajah & Tann did not produce any findings having a "material impact on the company's assets or on its earnings and financial position." While the probe did not find any evidence to confirm the alleged round-tipping payments, corruption or evidence that the firm deceived authorities with regard to the granting of licenses, Wirecard states "it cannot be ruled out that one or other employees may have committed punishable offenses."
