US markets post slight gains in premarket

US stocks were trading positively in premarket on Friday after reports emerged that United States Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin may propose easing or abolishing import tariffs on Chinese merchandise. China also confirmed on Thursday that its Vice Premier Liu He will visit Washington from January 30-31 as part of the two nations' ongoing trade talks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.34%, the Nasdaq grew by 0.26% and the S&P 500 recorded a 0.32% gain, all at 4:30 am ET. The euro was flat against the dollar, buying 1.13941 at 4:30 am ET.
