US stocks continue premarket slide

US stocks continued to tumble premarket on Thursday despite positive developments on the diplomatic front. China first confirmed that Vice Premier Liu He will visit the United States at the end of January as part of ongoing trade talks. North Korean Vice Chairman Kim Yong-chol subsequently boarded a flight bound for Washington to meet with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Beijing, confirming earlier reports that indicated he would do so.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 0.46% and the Nasdaq dropped 0.43% while the S&P 500 decreased 0.43%, all at 8:09 am ET. Meanwhile, the euro gained 0.08% against the dollar, buying 1.14016 at 8:09 am ET.
