Wall Street opens higher as Biden set to unveil stimulus

Trading on Wall Street kicked off in the green on Thursday as investors awaited details of incoming President Joe Biden's stimulus package.

According to CNN, Biden is expected to reveal a relief package worth as much as $2 trillion in an effort to aid the economy amid the resurgence of the coronavirus.

The Dow Jones climbed 0.32% in the first moments of the session with Johnson & Johnson among the strongest performers following news the company's coronavirus vaccine has been proven safe in early trials. The S&P 500 was up 0.26% as Intel led the gains, rising on news of its new CEO. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.24%; Applied Materials rallied over 6%.
