United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce tomorrow a curfew on the hospitality industry and patrol venues as part of measures to contain the expanding coronavirus outbreak, the Sun reported on Monday.

According to the report, pubs, bars and restaurants may get completely shut in the hotspots of the pandemic. The rumor comes shortly after the government's health advisor Patrick Vallance claimed the country could see up to 50,000 COVID-19 cases per day if the virus continues to spread at this rate. Commenting on the situation in London, Mayor Sadiq Khan said the authorities are planning new citywide restrictions.

According to the government's data, the UK informed it had registered 4,368 new positive cases and 11 virus-related deaths over the past day. The COVID-19 alert has also been moved from level 3 to level 4, meaning there is a "material risk of healthcare services being overwhelmed."
