Asia mostly up on vaccine hopes

Major stock market indexes in Asia traded mostly higher on Wednesday as the situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak continued to weigh on investor sentiment. Multiple companies reported the start of late-stage human trials as the rally in discovering a vaccine continues. Meanwhile, Nissan Motor reported earlier its revenue in the first fiscal quarter of 2020 dropped 51% per annum.

In mainland China, the Shenzhen Composite went up by 2:26% at 7:34 am CET, while at the same time, the Shanghai Composite, added 1.14%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded 0.06% higher at 7:32 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi increased by 0.20% a minute later, with the Australian S&P/ASX 200 falling 0.18% at the same time.

The dollar, however, stood flat against the yen, going for ¥105.0655 at 7:35 am CET, with Japan's Nikkei 225 losing 1.08% at 7:32 am CET.
