Kuroda: Aiming for 2% inflation as soon as possible

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Wednesday as he spoke to members of parliament alongside Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that the BoJ is still aiming to reach 2% inflation as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Abe stressed that the BoJ's ETF purchases do not have the goal of influencing stocks and are instead there only as an instrument of monetary policy. He added that the moves are entirely up to the BoJ.

Earlier, Kuroda said that the central bank will go ahead with more monetary easing if needed.
