Asian stocks fall as BoJ holds interest rates

Equities on Asian markets dropped on Tuesday following the Bank of Japan's decision to hold its negative interest rates unchanged.

Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its global growth outlook for 2020 by 0.1 percentage points to 3.3% due to slower growth in the world's emerging economies.

The Nikkei 225 lost 0.84% at 4:30 am CET while the Kospi decreased 0.55% at the same time. Chinese markets went down as well with the Hang Seng falling 1.95% at 4:31 am CET, the Shanghai Composite slipping 1.14% at 4:17 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite sliding 0.95% at 4:30 am CET. Meanwhile, the S&P/ASX 200 in Australia traded 0.43% lower at the same time.

The greenback lost 0.15% against the yen, changing hands for 109.9975 at 4:36 am CET.
