Volkswagen Group is recalling approximately 38,100 new vehicles on the global level due to issues surrounding the vehicles’ braking systems, the company’s spokesman said on Wednesday.

Almost 17,600 nationwide copies of the Golf, Tiguan, Touran and T-Roc from the 2020 model year, will, therefore, be recalled.

The company’s spokesman said that even though no damage or accidents are known, during internal checks, it was noticed that the pedal plate on which the driver's footrests when braking can deform or even come off under certain circumstances. According to him, automatic cars and left-hand drive vehicles are affected.
