Dow closes over 200 pts in the red

Trading on Wall Street concluded in the red on Friday with the Dow Jones dropping over 200 points at the end of the session.

Concerns over the rising number of coronavirus infections in the United States took over stocks during the last trading day of the week despite positive developments surrounding COVID-19 vaccines. Both Pfizer and Moderna have reported highly efficient vaccine candidates. Meanwhile, investors digested news that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin decided pandemic lending programs at the Federal Reserve would expire at the end of the year.

The Dow Jones lost 219 points as Boeing led the losses. The S&P 500 fell 0.68% with Norwegian Cruise Lines as the worst performer. The Nasdaq 100 sank 0.66%; Workday plunged over 9%.
