Volkswagen Group CEO Herbert Diess confirmed on Wednesday the outlook for 2020, stating that despite the ongoing pandemic the automaker outperformed the market.

In a press release prepared for the VW annual general meeting, the executive said the September sales and deliveries are expected to be higher than last year, with that trend likely to continue until the end of the year.

Further, Deiss said that the car manufacturer's plans to invest €33 billion into e-mobility are "being accelerated," with €14 billion from the amount to be used to develop VW's autonomous driving systems by 2024.
