US shares trade lower in premarket ahead of data

Shares in the United States traded lower in the premarket on Thursday ahead of economic data that is to be revealed later in the day. The Census Bureau is to release its report on housing starts, while the Department of Labor will unveil the latest update on initial jobless claims. Meanwhile, the number of daily coronavirus cases in the country followed the global trend of constant rise, propelling a decline in oil prices.

The Dow Jones traded 0.78% or 217 points lower at 4:30 am ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 declined by 0.99% and the S&P 500 went down by 0.91%.

The euro lost 0.10% against the dollar to sell for $1.18036 at 4:27 am CET.
