Death toll from Pakistan Airlines crash confirmed at 97

A total of 97 people were confirmed to have died in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) crash, authorities announced on Saturday. Meanwhile, two people managed to survive the crash, while no casualties were reported in the Karachi neighborhood where the plane fell.

In other developments, a spokesman for PIA told reporters the plane's flight data recorder was recovered at the scene of the fatal crash.

The A320 Airbus plane flying from Lahore to Karachi with 99 people on board crashed on Friday shortly after the pilot reportedly told air traffic controllers he was experiencing problems with the engines.
