US stocks open higher with trade in focus

Wall Street stocks started Wednesday's trading session in the green as investors digested the most recent news regarding trade. The United States President Donald Trump claimed negotiations with Beijing were going well, while also expressing belief trade issues with the European Union will be worked out. However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said it will not put any time limit on when the trade deal with the US. French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire stated "all options" were on the table to respond to the threat of US tariffs.

Meanwhile on data, the ADP National Employment Report showed the private sector in the US added 67,000 jobs in November.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.48% at the opening bell, as UnitedHealth Group Inc. climbed 3.05%. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.45%, with Expedia Group jumping 6.45%. The S&P 500 increased 0.36%, as Analog Devices Inc. grew 2.35%.

The euro was up 0.22% at 9:29 am ET, to change hands for 1.11050 dollars. At the same time, the pound gained 0.73% against the greenback at 1.30925.
