Wall Street rises further as trade fears ease

Equities on the United States stock markets continued to rise on Wednesday after media reported Washington and Beijing were moving closer towards a trade deal, despite rising tensions on the issues of Hong Kong and Xinjiang. The Chinese government criticized the recently passed bill condemning Beijing's policies in the Xinjiang province.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.47%, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.52%. The S&P 500 increased 0.40%.

The euro was flat against the dollar at 6:59 am ET, to sell for $1.10782. The pound jumped 0.73% to $1.30930.
