Japan's industrial production rises 1.7% MoM in October

Japanese industrial production increased 1.7% on a monthly basis in October, with the Seasonally Adjusted index reaching 103.2, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said on Friday. Industrial output jumped 1.3% compared to the same period last year.

Shipments rose 1.5% compared to September as the Seasonally Adjusted Index stood at 102.7 in October. On an annual basis, the index of shipments went up 2.2% over the same period.

Meanwhile, with the seasonally adjusted inventories index amounted to 102.9 in October, the Japanese economy's inventories dropped 1.4% month-over-month but still managed to increase modestly compared to a year prior, growing 0.9%.

Inventory ratio slipped 1.9% monthly with the seasonally adjusted index reaching 108.4, enough to beat the results from October 2018 by 1.9%.
