Zurich, 23 February 2010 --- The Board of Directors of Julius Baer Group Ltd.
will propose Claire Giraut, Chief Financial Officer of Ipsen, for election as a
new member of the Board at the Annual General Meeting on 8 April 2010. Claire
Giraut will succeed Monika Ribar who decided not to seek re-election after her
third term in office.

Claire Giraut has gained extensive financial expertise during her career of
almost thirty years, encompassing many key finance functions in an international
environment in a number of industries. Since 2003 she has been Chief Financial
Officer of the global speciality pharmaceutical group Ipsen.

Monika Ribar, Chief Executive Officer of Panalpina Management Ltd., has been a
member of Julius Baer's Board of Directors since 2001. During nine eventful
years with Julius Baer, also as a member of the Audit Committee, Monika Ribar
has substantially contributed to the state-of-the art financial and operational
oversight and compliance of the Group.
