US turns red premarket amid COVID-19 fears

Major stock indexes in the United States slipped under the flatline premarket on Friday as concerns regarding the resurgence of coronavirus infections dampened investors' appetites. Brian Deese, the director of the National Economic Council, stated that he was optimistic about Congress raising the debt limit.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 both dropped 0.17% at 8:04 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.13% at the same time.

The euro rose 0.16% against the dollar at 8:06 am ET, changing hands for $1.17833.
