US turns red in premarket ahead of retail sales data

Shares on the major stock market indexes in the United States turned to trading with losses in the premarket on Thursday, after having spent most of the morning subdued.

The investors waited for the release of the weekly initial jobless claims report, as well as the data regarding the retail sales in the country for August.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 0.16% at 8:12 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 sank 0.31% at the same time. The S&P 500 concurrently lost 0.22%. A minute later, the euro dropped 0.45% versus the dollar, selling for 1.17635.
