Europe higher premarket amid vaccine optimism

Shares on the major European stock market indexes traded in the green in the premarket on Monday, as the investors remained hopeful that the latest updates from the COVID-19 vaccine development front could help curb the spread of the virus and mitigate the pandemic's impact on the economy.

The traders will keep an eye on the economic indicators updates set for schedule later in the day, most notably the data on the state of the manufacturing sector activity in the Eurozone, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

The CAC 40 increased 0.68% at 7:03 am CET, while the DAX gained 0.61% at 7:11 am CET. In London, the FTSE 100 moved up by 0.72% a minute later. The euro strengthened 0.16% versus the dollar, selling for 1.20850 at 7:15 am CET, while the pound jumped 0.39% compared to the greenback, to change hands at 1.39820 at the same time.
