Activity in Japan's manufacturing sector fell slightly in January to signal a renewed deterioration in business conditions, a report by the IHS Markit showed.

The Jibun Bank Flash Manufacturing Output Index stood at 49.7 in December, falling from 50.0 a month earlier.

Meanwhile, the Flash Composite Output Index decreased from 47.7 in December to 45.7 in January showing a stronger contraction in business activity.
