Rospotrebnadzor chief Anna Popova announced on Tuesday that Russia has started producing the country's second vaccine used against the COVID-19.

The production is taking place at the Vector Institute, a biological research center in Koltsovo, Novosibirsk Oblast, which has all four biosafety levels. The vaccine was registered earlier in October.

The government plans to deliver about 800,000 vaccine doses by the end of November according to Russia's Trade Minister Denis Manturov, with an additional expansion to nearly 15 million shots by spring.
