Asia trades lower after Europe, Wall Street fall

Asian markets traded with losses on Tuesday after selloffs hit both European and American stock indexes amid fresh coronavirus worries. The Dow Jones dropped over 500 points at the closing bell, additionally weighed down by concerns over the national debt.

In Korea, the Kospi Composite slid by 1.84% at 4:28 am CET, while the Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.76% at 4:48 am CET.

The Shanghai Composite lost 0.67% at the same time, while the Shenzhen Composite was flat at 4:50 am CET. Hang Seng traded 0.69% in the red at 4:51 am CET.

Japan's Nikkei 225 remained closed for a public holiday.

The dollar traded 0.10% lower compared to the yen and sold for 104.5505 at 4:52 am CET.
