The United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesman stated on Thursday that the state-managed a deal to buy antibody tests that are going to be free with a focus on health and care workers.

A spokesman said: "Have we agreed on a deal on the antibody testing? The answer to that is yes," and noted that the UK health minister Matt Hancock would explain this deal more thoroughly later in the day.

The British government had been negotiating with Swiss health company Roche for antibody tests. Roche said yesterday its "reliable, high quality" Elecsys coronavirus antibody test is available at over 20 different sites in the United States.
