Nikkei 225 jumps over 450 points

Asian stocks jumped on Monday, with the Nikkei 225 gaining over 450 points, despite further verbal attacks on China from the United States. Over the weekend, White House advisor Peter Navarro hinted the US may ban TikTok and WeChat. Meanwhile, investors watched the coronavirus pandemic as a Russian institute said it made a safe vaccine.

The Nikkei 225 surged over 450 points or 2.04% at 7:26 am CET. The dollar was flat against the yen as it went for ¥106.8830 at 7:28 am CET.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite increased 1.97% at 7:24 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite jumped 1.99% at the same time. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 1.21% at 7:27 am CET. South Korea's Kospi gained 1.71% at 7:27 am CET and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was up by 0.82% at the same time.
