Europe opens flat with data in focus

Major European stock markets started the last trading session of the week close to the flatline as investors waited for today's PMI and retail data releases.

The FTSE, the DAX, and the CAC 40 all started virtually flat, proceeding to drop into red soon after the opening bell. In London, Just Eat Takeaway.com N.V. lost 0.66%. Germany, Delivery Hero SE dropped 2.39%. BNP Paribas S.A. was the worst performer in Paris.

The euro and the pound were both unchanged against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, selling for $1.18773 and $1.38287 respectively.
