Dow jumps over 100 pts premarket after break

Shares on Wall Street moved higher during the early premarket session on Tuesday with the Dow Jones jumping over 100 points following the holiday break.

Investors awaited former Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen's Senate hearing, as she prepared to underscore the importance of more fiscal stimulus in order to avoid a longer recession as Joe Biden's nominee for Treasury secretary. Meanwhile, final preparations for the incoming president's inauguration were underway as Biden was set to take the oath of office on Wednesday.

The Dow Jones was up 135 points or 0.44% at 4:25 am ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 climbed 0.63% while the Nasdaq 100 jumped 0.97%.
