US stocks extend losses in premarket ahead of earnings

Major stock market indexes in the United States extended losses in premarket trading on Friday as investors awaited earnings from major banks, including JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citigroup. Earlier, United States President-elect Joe Biden announced his economic stimulus plan, which would put $1.9 trillion into the US economy as global lockdowns persist.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down around 110 points, falling 0.34% at 6:45 am ET and the S&P 500 was down 0.33% at the same time. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 lost 0.25% at 6:46 am ET.

The euro declined by 0.27% against the dollar to go for 1.21306 at 6:47 am ET.
