Wall Street closes mostly higher as House set to impeach Trump

Shares on Wall Street closed mostly with gains on Wednesday as the House of Representatives began voting on impeaching President Donald Trump for a second time.

Representatives were expected to impeach the president again, however, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that the Senate would not reconvene before January 19, meaning Trump's impeachment trial will take place after he leaves the White House.

The Dow Jones closed flat. The S&P 500 was up 0.23% at the closing bell as Intel surged nearly 7% on news of its new CEO. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.63% with Peloton leading the gains as it rallied 7.29%.
